Constructing a portfolio is really intimidating. I made one during architecture school, and I can’t even begin to count the amount of hours I spent perfecting each and every piece I put into it. So as I’m beginning to consider the design of, and projects I will put into my UX portfolio, I’m spending (way too much) time searching the internet for all sorts of inspiration. The following are personal sources of inspiration for different areas of my future portfolio design.

Sketches and hand-drawn wireframes

Viget Labs
Early Ember
Commlogix

Personal branding that represents me as a designer

Libby Vanderploeg
Sarah Jones
FarSighted Design Co

GIFs that affectively show how my prototypes work

Gabriel Nazoa
Daniel Montgomery
Jokūbas
VitoShen

High quality mockups of my app and webpage designs

Christian Vizcarra
Jimmy Gleeson

Meaningful projects that convey what I care about

Cactus Denver — Man Therapy
Viget Labs — WWF

Looking at well-designed posters for color palette ideas.

Half Moon Market — love this color palette
