Volcana Tequila- Branding Exercise

When branding a great product, there are a few questions you should ask yourself prior to delving into the design. Do your research and then ask yourself these important questions.

  1. Why should anyone care about this?

Volcana tastes like the roots of tequila, fresh pina aged in oak barrels and mixed with fruity flavors. Volcana pairs well with all traditional cocktails and goes well by itself. It has a blast of flavor.

2. Who is your audience?

All tequila lovers who enjoy trying new things. They enjoy cocktails, margaritas and of course, tequila on the rocks. Anyone from the ages of 21 to 42 is our main demographic.

3. Is the Audience people like you?

The audience is go-getters, ready to enjoy a rare night out on the town. Their favorite go-to cocktail is a classic margarita, on the rocks. They love pairing it with a well-made taco from their local bar.

4. For whom am I communicating?

Volcana tequila, a tequila brand

5. What point do I want to make?

This tequila will spice up any cocktail with its different flavors!

6. What idea am I trying to convey?

Regular cocktails will never taste the same again once you try this…

7. Who am I?

Fresh tequila company, innovative, stylish, modern, yet old

Specify your audience

Audience 1

Ages 21–25 who are either in college or just graduated. They are ahead of the curve when it comes to buying new things. They are innovators, outcasts, and wild ones. When purchasing their drink, they care about the taste. They want a tequila cocktail that they can’t taste the alcohol, and always grab a 6-pack of our Volcana cocktails to go for their favorite local outings because the flavor is unmatchable.

Audience 2

Ages 25–35 who typically drink margaritas on the rocks, and typically choose higher-end tequilas because they are trying to avoid a hangover. They love volcana for its superior taste, packaging and color choices.

What They Think, Drive, Eat and Wear

The customers that drink tequila typically think that they are a good time when out with friends, they love spending time with their peers and are the jokester of the group. Volcana drinkers typically drive Mazdas, Hondas, and even BMW's. They wear vans, Volcom, Nordstrom Rack, and their favorite foods are pizza and tacos.

Beliefs: Political, Social, Familial, Cultural

They are typically not political, an extrovert, very close with their siblings, and are typically Latin American or Caucasian.

Where They Live, Shop and Relax

They live in Colorado and relax at their apartment or their local taco joint. They love eating out at Mexican places because they are cheap and delicious

Dear target user, I would like you to purchase Volcana tequila because you will stand out from the crowd and refresh your taste buds with the highest grade tequila, that comes from the fertile lands of Tequila, Mexico.

Do you ever crave a tequila that is pure, rich, and absolutely delicious? Mix it with your favorite flavors and not only have an explosion in your mouth, but also in your night. Taste the delicious flavors of Volcana tequila and come alive in the nighttime, ready to burst with unbeknownst amounts of energy.

Write a few sentences about specific outcomes

When you take a sip you will wonder why this has never been done before. When you see the packaging you will be impressed with the pop of color and simplistic yet beautiful design. You will wonder, why haven’t I thought of this before?

For tequila lovers, Volcana is the best tasting product on the market, because it is made in the most fertile volcanic lands of the world. The fresh pina is aged to perfection and we use tropical fruits from Maui Hawaii to give the best, organic, flavors.
