Why #edtech?

At Reach Capital, our team of mission-driven investors and former educators is unabashedly optimistic in the power of technology to expand opportunities and unlock human potential. Our philosophy is grounded in the steadfast belief that education can transform lives for the better. It’s a mission that is also shared by and attracts people from all walks of life, across all ages — students, parents, teachers, techies, founders, researchers, writers, policy makers and countless others from diverse backgrounds.

Earlier this summer, we launched on Instagram the #HumansofEdtech Project, a series of profiles about the people who build, use and otherwise work in edtech, and in doing so shape the future of teaching and learning. Where did their path begin? What fuels their passion and commitment? Who inspired them? What do they enjoy doing outside of work?

We’re sharing their personal stories in order to show how, despite different upbringings, interests and experiences, a common drive to improve education unites us all.

Here, you’ll get to meet our interns, like Diyambah Tamana

… along with founders in our portfolio, including Polygence co-founder Jin Chow

… and other dedicated entrepreneurs, educators and students in our extended networks and community, like Alex Yang, an undergraduate at NYU and intern at Edgi Learning.

There are many more stories that we will be sharing throughout the year! Follow us on Instagram to hear more about the inspiring people working to improve educational opportunities and outcomes for all (alongside behind-the-scenes snapshots of life at Reach Capital!)
