10 Ways To Get Rid Of Dark Knees And Elbows
Getting dark knees and elbows is one of the common problems for everyone. Since the buildup of dead skin forms more in elbows or knees due to friction, the area turns black. Black knees and elbows can happen to any person regardless of their complexion. You can easily get rid of dark knees and elbows with the following home remedies which are based on natural bleaching agents and exfoliation.
Cook potatoes and mash them in a bowl with yogurt to make a paste. Apply to your knees and elbows for 30 minutes and repeat after regular intervals. Since potatoes contain bleaching agents they will reduce the darkness of the area and will help lighten the area.
Use a cotton ball to apply full fat milk to knees and elbows. Let it absorb completely into the skin and repeat everyday. The lactic acid in milk reduces skin pigmentation and moisturizes and clears away dead skin cells.
Cut a papaya into slices and mash with water to make paste and apply to knees and elbows and leave for 10 minutes. Since papaya contains many natural properties it helps in lightening and moisturising of the skin.
4] Yogurt and Almond
Grind 8–10 almonds and mix with 2 tablespoons of yogurt to make a paste. Using wet fingertips, apply to knees and elbows, rubbing in circles for 15–20 minutes and repeat weekly. Yogurt moisturizes and evens the skin tone while almond is great as an exfoliation agent.

Mix 2 tablespoons of gram flour with yogurt to make a paste. Apply to knees and elbows and leave for 15–20 minutes. For dry skin replace yogurt with fresh cream and for oily skin replace it with milk. Gram flour contains essential vitamins and proteins that remove dead skin cells and give your skin an even tone.
6] Bleaching Fruits
Apply the juice of any of the bleaching fruits like lemon, tomato and grapes and they will help you get rid of black skin when used regularly. You can use different juice for different days and let them get absorbed in the skin.
7] Olive Oil
Rub warm olive oil to the knees and elbows everyday for 10 minutes. This oil has natural bleaching properties and softens the rough skin giving the skin a distinctive smoothness and glow. This is the cheapest remedy for removing darkness.
8] Cocoa Butter and Shea Butter
Apply any one of the butters on the darkened skin every night before going to bed. These natural fats act as good moisturizers and help in making the skin soft and remove darkness caused by flaky skin.
9] Aloe Vera Gel
Aloe vera gel should be applied freshly to knees and elbows and should be left for 30 minutes. This will reduce the sun damage caused to the skin and will moisturise the skin and also prevent further dryness which could lead to darkening of skin.
10] Baking Soda
Take one tablespoon of baking soda and mix it with milk. Apply this on knees and elbows and scrub it using circular motion and repeat once in two days. Baking soda is very effective in cleaning the skin and reduces darkening of the skin while milk bleaches the skin.
