Major rivers of the world that are facing extinction
Rivers that once existed now have turned into fumes leaving behind nothing but gigantic empty wastelands. This is not to be taken lightly as brewing ignorance is the reason why the world is facing this disastrous calamity. Human population seems to be exploding out of control, as all life relies on water. It was going to show us its side effects. Rivers across the world are getting affected and no one seems to care at all. Politicians are busy dealing with drought, when they actually should focus on reviving the river from the jaws of death.

To shed some light on the dramatic changes that have taken place in the rivers of the world. We have listed few of the many major rivers that are soon going to cease to exist.
Saraswati river
The magnificent beauty that is ‘River Saraswati’. It is widely believed that the river still flows through indian sub continent. Instead of being visible it’s doing the job of connecting one river to another via underground. Science doesn’t go with the popular belief and it demands hard evidence, which suggests modern day activities and movement of slug could be the reason for its death.
Colorado river
Colorado river is one of the most used and tapped water way of the American continent. It covers a remarkable distance of over 2333 Km till it mixes with the ocean. A significant change in the water level of the river has been observed, which has invoked trepidation. The river is being excessively used and on top of that the climate change is affecting it on a grand scale. The river now is only able to supply 10% of the water level to the ocean to what it once used to.
Indus River
Indus is regarded as one of the world’s greatest rivers. However, her greatness has been belittled by the acts of man. The river used to flow across Pakistan and then end at the port of karachi by getting one with the ocean. That has become old world’s tale. The heavy increase in the use of river has brought the water level down severely. The river now hinges closer and closer in meeting its unnatural end.
Rio grande river
The Grande river can no longer live up to its name. All thanks to the ever expanding population. The river flows across 2 countries, mexico and texas. The 3000+ long stretch of river seems to emptying at a fast rate. The river is being brought in utilization by both the nations heavily and ensuring its demise.
Yellow river
The enigmatic yellow river of China. Bears the iconic colour yellow, which later became its identity. Yellow river is 5th longest river in the world and is ranked 2nd longest in china, stretching across over 5 thousand Kilometers. The river saw extensive use across the country and has also been heavily diverted which ultimately led to reduced water levels. The overuse choked the river for a whooping 230 days. Good job!
Teesta river
Teesta river flows through Sikkim and meets Brahmaputra, ultimately ending in Bangladesh. It’s the third Indian river on our list, which is jostling to keep its existence. The river flows through a stretch of 300+ km to meet Bay of bengal. The river’s drying up due to intense human activities, presence of many dams, which is bringing the water levels down. This has caused the river to die down and fishermen are finding it hard to make a living with the dying of Teesta in the region.
Murray river
The mighty Murray that flows through Australian continent is yet another example of what human activities can do to a river. Murray river is the quintessential river of Australian continent. This river provides water for irrigation and supports farmers of the continent. It’s the longest river of the continent and life of the region. But slowly, it seems to be dousing down, due to excessive use and slit formation which has brought down the water levels to a bare minimum.
