A Brief History Of Petroleum

The use of petrol (oil) for different purposes has been remained in practice through out human history. Because of its such a long and complicated history it is now difficult to say or assumed as to which country, state or civilization has first discovered and started its use.
History show that petrol was used for making bricks and in construction of wall and towers by the Babylonians. In Indus valley civilization about 3000 BC, it was mainly used for making crop baskets water proof.
Archaeologists during a research at a site in Syria have unearthened a stone containing ancient scripture. According to the research team the stone is about 40,000 years old and some of the scripture of the stone tablet indicates the use of oil for different purposes.
