An Open Letter from a Liberal to Conservative Women (I Am Not Scary)
Dear Conservative Women,
I am the left-leaning liberal woman you have been told to hate. While you may have animosity towards me, I do not hate you. I try not to use that word as it creates division and harm. The podcaster Allie Beth Stuckey and the media personalities on Fox News would have you believe that I am evil. They would have you believe that I hate children, and don’t care about the most vulnerable. This couldn’t be further from the truth. This open letter is not intended to change your mind; I simply hope that you can consider a new perspective, even if it’s just for a moment.
Liberal women are not here to push our agenda on you. If you choose to stay at home with your kids, that is wonderful. We are simply asking for the choice. I consider motherhood to be valuable work, and I deeply respect my mother and grandmother. I hold my family and values in high regard. We are asking for the freedom to choose, and we are against any form of domination. We do not want to be told who we should love. We do not want to be told what to do with our bodies. We do not want our children to be taught things that go against science or be forced into religion through a public-school setting.
