What is new?
Faux research about the health effects of eating red and processed meat has already hijacked the discussion. Here I whistle-blow on the untenable conclusions of the latest dupe published in one of Europe’s most prestigious journals, a paper that pretends to argue from genomic analysis.
Why it matters
I started this post with the intention of debunking the myth that meat is harmful to your health. However, when I dissected this paper, all I could see were red flags about its credibility.
What you will discover
One in four to one in three newly published papers in medicine are being red-flagged for potentially faux science content. You’ll also learn how to protect yourself from these potential assaults on your health.
It is really weird…
… that no one knows what eating red or processed meat does to your body. If we knew, scientists would long have settled whether eating meat harms or helps your health. What’s even weirder is that we now permit faux science to settle that question under the guise of methodical legitimacy.
