Enjoying the In-Between Stage - After the Last and Before the Next

I wake up to no messages and (most days) I’ve never been happier

You have just ended things with your most recent fling. You’re past the grieving stage, you’re healing and you’re beginning to feel positive again.

You no longer check your phone every 10 minutes, checking for notifications- in fact you’re phone is so dry these days that the attachment to your hand has broken and you tend to forget where you last placed it.

I have no problem with being alone but I can admit, the sudden drop in attention can take some getting used to.

I had to stop myself from sending a quick message to a past ex and reopening the door that should most definitely remain shut!

So what to do now? I say re-prove to yourself that you are happy and whole all on your own and take advantage of this time for you.

Enjoy the Peace

While you’re not getting to know anyone else, you can thrive in peace- comfortable with the facts you know about yourself. No having to second guess what someone else with potential is telling you.

No confusion trying to make sense of someone else’s thinking behind their actions or over analyzing the slightest change in patterns:

“Where’s my morning text?”

I mean, I miss sweet morning texts, a little.

Enjoy the Selfish Era!

No having to second guess your own actions trying to consider the feelings of your “person of the moment”.

This is your time! Your time to focus on yourself. Revive the great love you have for yourself and if it never left, amp it up! You need to be fully supplied, up to your eyeballs with self love before you can start giving it away.

Enjoy your free time to better yourself.

I know, you feel you’ve had enough life lessons to better yourself for this lifetime and the next!

Enjoy being still.

Also known as, the waiting period.

This is a good time to revise your life- set new goals and spark your own motivation to reach them. The feeling of having purpose, making your way down your own path with focus is unmatched. You’re no longer comparing yourself with anyone else because you’re sure of where you’re heading.

None of us have the ability to slow down time but taking the time to be still and reflect feels close. Take note of the desires in your heart and let them lead you- they’re not there for no reason.

The desire I have for love is strong but I won’t let it lead me into any old thing!

This period can get lonely but we must learn to appreciate where we are before looking forward to what tomorrow has in store. Love yourself and love the people who love you- you’ll be fine.
