Spring in Ohio means the awakening of houseflies from hibernation.

At first, they are slow and easy to swat, but as the days get warmer the flies get quicker.

We had a red plastic flyswatter and a blue plastic flyswatter for years. Yesterday we snapped and broke both of them because we were swatting so hard. Rich ran to Walmart and bought a pack of two for only 98 cents.

Not only do the flies get quicker, but they also seem to multiply.

I swear, I can be staring at a fly and watching it closely while Rich swats it and I will see a dead one fall while two more fly away.

When Rich first said, “He pooped out another one!” I laughed so hard I almost cried.

It’s comical now because we always say, “He pooped out two more!” or “He pooped out another one!”

Ha ha.

May the houseflies annoy the hell out of you today, too.
