This is the first episode of the “Hard Truth” series in which I will state facts bluntly, not for the fun of being blunt, but because no one else is doing you the favor.

Medium Day is coming, and I thought we should have some fun together there. So, I submitted my proposal titled “From Confused to Confident” (the foundational motto of every aspiring Dunning-Kruger honoree). I only half expected an invitation to present it. After all, what do confusion and confidence have to do with the Medium Day motto “Just Start Writing”?

Obviously a lot.

The Medians took me seriously, which not everyone does (just ask my wife, my son, and …yeah, as if I would tell you). Maybe it was the second part of the title, “A Scientist’s Framework For Health Decisions,” that made the grade.

Still, and contrary to all the palpably excited other speakers out there, I had no clue how to string my subject to “Just Start Writing.” Until now, that is. You set me on the right path.
