Manhattan Day Two — Earthquake?

Part two. What in the all holy East Coast bullshit was that?

This was definitely a time for one of Ruby’s most apocalyptic-looking pictures because CLEARLY, we’re all going to die.

We were at The Strand and I was in book heaven when the world moved. Literally. We had a freaking earthquake! It wasn’t major so at first I thought it was one of my focal seizures. They fuck with all of my senses and sometimes that means I feel things that aren’t real (it’s more common that I see something moving but feeling things happens too) but when I saw the look on Blue Eyes’s face and noticed everyone in the store had stopped dead in their tracks and was looking around — I knew it wasn’t just me.

It was a few minutes before we started getting notifications on our phones of what had happened. The soon-to-be ex-husband felt it in RI as well and my dad texted from my hometown (he has no clue that I’m in NY) to see if we’d felt it. I have never been through an earthquake before, apparently this was rather small — but I am not interested in ever experiencing another.

The ground is not supposed to move. We move, the ground stays still. I mean, I know — technically the earth is always moving but I like the whole NOT BEING ABLE TO FEEL IT thing we have going on.
