Australia has a new state
You have to admit, we live in geopolitically interesting times. The Gulf of Mexico has shifted to the USA, and Mount Something of Alaska is now Mount Something Else (I have a problem remembering names, I’ll get to that issue in a moment… unless I forget it along the way).
But here comes the true seismic shift: An entire country has now become the state of another (and no, it is not Panama or Greenland, we reserve that for the silly season when we will run short of other entertainment).
Iran has just become the Australian state ‘formerly known as Iran’ (we keep with the artists’ tradition of changing names without actually changing them).
