Sometimes More is Best!
Is this how readers feel about a book prologue?
We’ve all probably heard the expression that claims: “Less is more”. In many cases, that expression happens to be true, and that includes in the case of fiction writing.
This is often the case, during the course of writing a book and trying to get your entire plot and story line across to readers. There are usually lots of instances where you can take just a few short sentences or paragraphs, and convey a whole wealth of information.
One way that’s really effective for doing this, is through dialogue, with the help of your interesting and animated characters, and not just using narration.
However, when narrating a story, I know from personal experience as an author, there are plenty of instances during novel writing, where you could or should use the “less is more” concept.
In fact, that’s why I’m bringing this topic up right now.
I’m currently rewriting a book that I previously wrote more than ten years ago. I published it under the pen name — a newly activated profile I still have here on the platform.
