7 Types Applicable to Any Age.(Science Backed)

I faced stress many times, and it doesn’t feel good at all.

Put Yourself Over Your Work.

Someone else can do your work, but they can’t rest for you, can they?

Rest is underrated.

To your Body, Mind, and Soul.

According to Victoria Repa, CEO of BetterMe,

There are 7 types of rest you must give yourself to avoid Burnout

1. Physical Rest:

Might sound obvious but, sleep at least 7 hours a night,

don’t overexert yourself.

2. Mental Rest:

I talked about this a gazillion times until now, and I’ll reiterate:

MENTAL STRESS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE.

Practice meditation, yoga, breathing exercises,

Anything.

Something.

I’ll write an article on this too, but later.

There are a million mental health advocates in the world.

Youtube, LinkedIn, Twitter, even Medium (someone like me, hehe).

ReLAX. RelAXXX. ReLAAAAXXXXX.

If you can’t, it’s not becoz you actually can’t.

But becoz you think you can’t.

You taking a break doesn’t stop the time. Nor the world.

Nothing’s gonna fall apart,

EXCEPT YOU.

3. Sensory Rest:

This is an information era.

How are we absorbing the information?

In the Digitalized versions: Screens, Radio etc.

So your senses are never actually at rest except at sleep.

Give them a Break.

They are your most valuable assets. Protect them.

Care for them. They’ll protect you.

(Sounds cheesy, but whatever.)

4. Social Rest:

You get a message on some social media app.

From someone you (probably) call a friend.

But you know this ain’t gonna be good.

Stay AWAY from those parasites.

The type that drain the little energy you got after work.

Use this for people you love and care about.

LIVE LIFE A LITTLE, YOU KNOW?

5. Spiritual Rest:

It’s about contributing to something that is bigger than yourself.

Meditate, Travel, Do Something that gives you peace.

A peace of mind, a smile on your face.

Do some volunteering.

Look at the world from another perspective.

It keeps you humble.

It tells you a lot of things you don’t know.

6. Emotional Rest:

Acknowledge your emotions.

Identifying them is where you begin.

Talk about them and express them.

Get that shite out of your body.

7. Creative Rest:

Creativity is not a never-ending flow.

This is what Writers call “Writer’s block”.

Visit a museum, concert something.

Sometimes creativity comes from places you never expect.

Remember peeps, Rest is not optional, it’s mandatory.

Thanks for reading. Good Luck!!

Until next time, peace!
