How to have a life worth living like Buddha?
What can we learn from the life of one of the greatest individuals in human history?
As I went through Thich Nhat Hanh’s one of the most famous works “Old Path White Clouds: The Life Story of the Buddha”. I realized that if we set aside religious or philosophical views when approaching the Buddha, his life is truly an example of a life worth living.
A successful and well-spent life
Everyone has their own definition of success. To me, if you can fulfill your life aspirations, that is a success, whatever your dreams or aspirations are. There is no set pattern for success.
Buddha’s greatest wish in life was to find a way to be free from suffering, from the endless cycle of birth, old age, illness, and death. And he did it at the age of 35. That path is the Noble Eightfold Path and the Four Noble Truths.
He did not stop there, though. The fact that the Buddha spent the rest of his life, sharing the truth he had discovered, was what gave his life meaning.
