A roof in a hot city.
My roof, which I’m watering so I can watch the match. Author’s image.

When India and Pakistan play cricket against each other, it’s almost like a war. On the day of the match, streets are deserted and anybody on duty during match hours will be avoiding work, and stressing out watching the Match.

I live in India. I’m watering my roof, as in the picture above because the temperature is 92°F right now. Our drawing room isn’t air-conditioned, but I can’t afford to miss this match!

Watering my roof will make the room below cool off enough for me to bear the next three hours of heat and stress in front of the telly.

Screenshot of how hot it is here in India right now. By author.

Pakistan separated from India in 1947 and has fought four formal wars against us.

Today, we’re having a peculiar cricket match between India and Pakistan.

Why peculiar?

1. This match is in New York.
