Today we’re happy to announce a Documents update that makes managing your files in cloud, reading PDFs, searching music and watching videos a lot easier. What’s under the hood?

View two page at once

Now, you can view two pages of your PDFs side by side like a book or a magazine. This is extremely useful while reading on your iPad in landscape mode and gives you a feeling of a real book experience with more information in one page. Perfect for bilingual books as well.

Read PDFs with comfort

We’re adding more PDF related options: from now and on, you’ll be able to select Sepia or Night modes, switch between vertical or horizontal scrolling and even crop pages for more enjoyable reading.

The best new way to manage files in the cloud

This update also brings the whole new experience to managing your files in cloud storage services.

  • Drag and drop files within your cloud storage, to another service (e.g. from Google Drive to Dropbox) or even into a local folder.
  • Find your files in the cloud faster by adding them to Favorites.
  • Get an immediate preview of your cloud files with a thumbnail view.

Search songs by metadata

A marvelous match for audio lovers! Starting today Documents supports ID3 tags, which means that now you can find your songs by a track title, artist, album name or even genre.

Double tap to skip 10 seconds

Navigation through videos is a tricky thing, especially when it comes to seconds. No more playing around with the progress bar! Double tap on the right or left part of the display to fast forward or rewind a video by 10 seconds. Watching movies is now more pleasurable!

Wrapping it up

With this update Documents sets the bar even higher for managing files on your mobile devices. We have a few more aces up our sleeve, and will be happy to share them with you soon. Stay tuned!

You can get Documents from the App Store now.
