ReaddleDocs: iPhone App Review

ReaddleDocs is the app I have been waiting for. As we all have experienced, the iPhone is not the easiest device to download a document onto. ReaddleDocs solves that problem for us quite nicely. The app has several ways to access documents. It offers support for MobileMe, Public iDisk, Box.net, and many others along with it’s own Readdle Storage account provided to all ReaddleDoc users. In addition to those numerous options, you can also download documents right from your browser into ReaddleDocs. It also has a feature that if you are viewing a webpage outside of the ReaddleDocs browser, all you have to do is add an “r” in front of the “http” address section and it will open in ReaddleDocs so you can download the document. It will even download and unzip ZIP files!!

The ReaddleDoc document viewer is similar in design to the Adobe Acrobat style many of us are used to on our computers. The document viewer gives you bookmark options, full screen viewing capabilities, and a % scroll bar to scroll through the document. It even gives you an email feature in the document viewer. Unlike other apps, when emailing through Readdledocs it does not open your email on the iPhone. It instead gives a different screen in which you have to type in your from address. Once the sender name/address has been set it does save it for future use.

This is by far one of my favorite document viewer apps available in the app store and well worth the $5. The only drawback I can see is that is does not allow you to edit the documents on your iPhone, but that is a very small thing.
