I am sure you have come across the latest news about the new iPhone 4S and iOS. However, if you missed it for some reason you can watch it here.

So, what’s new? iPhone 4S looks the same but has the brand new guts. It got a faster processor, better camera, new iOS and Siri. Overall, it will be much faster than the original iPhone 4, so prepare to see more games with stunning graphics and 3D effects. Better camera means higher resolution for pics, enabling new features like crop, etc. It seems that the virtual assist system Siri got the most positive feedback. It is absolutely amazing, if works well. Unfortunately, there are only 5 languages at the moment. You can look Siri promo video here.

There is a lot of negative buzz around the event. Clearly, Apple didn’t manage the expectations the right way. On the other hand, they have never said that it is going to be a brand new iPhone 5, Apple even picked 4th of October as a presentation day. But still, everyone wanted to see a redesigned and brilliant piece of innovative technology. It would be a good start for Tim Cook as a CEO. Some analysts blame carriers, because the latter ones have 2 years contracts with their customers.

What can we do about it? Certainly, Readdle team will adjust all products to match the new iPhone 4S capabilities and iOS 5 extensive features. Our scanner apps (Scanner Pro and Card Scanner) will benefit greatly from the new 8 megapixel camera and faster processors. We will consider adding OCR to Scanner Pro if it proves good recognition results. So yes, the update for Scanner Pro is coming soon. Also, Card Scanner will get major improvements and redesign. We will integrate iCloud in all our file managers, so you can benefit from this amazing feature. It will be a tough month, but we hope you will like our updates and adjustments!

Summing up, the main question is still open and can now be addressed to Siri: “Siri, when is iPhone 5 coming?”
