First dates sound exciting in theory. You picture laughter, smooth conversation, maybe even a spark you’ll tell your friends about later. But in reality? My first date felt more like a comedy of errors — awkward enough to make me want to crawl under the table, yet funny enough that I can now look back and laugh.
The Elevator of Silence
We didn’t even make it to the café before things got weird. The building had one of those slow elevators, the kind where you can feel every second drag. There we were, stuck together, both pretending to admire the floor numbers instead of speaking.
I wanted to break the silence, but my brain gave me nothing — absolutely nothing. By the time the doors opened, I was sweating like I’d just run a marathon. Great start, right?
