As the new year begins, readers everywhere are heading to Goodreads to set their annual reading goals. Whether it’s 10 books or 100, there’s a thrill in planning out the literary adventures ahead.

While I’d love to pledge 100 books this year, life as a parent and professional means I’ll aim for a more realistic 40–50 books. Over the years, I’ve learned to value quality over quantity — and this year, I’m focusing on adding more fiction to my list.

Last year, Alex Michaelides’ The Silent Patient and The Maidens rekindled my love for gripping stories. This year, I’m diving into Freida McFadden’s The Housemaid series, James McBride’s The Heaven & Earth Grocery Store, R.F. Kuang’s Yellowface, and S.A. Cosby’s All the Sinners Bleed. These titles are highly recommended and promise thrilling plots and thought-provoking themes.

Whether you’re finishing last year’s reads or exploring new genres, the joy of reading is in the journey. What’s your 2025 reading goal? Share your list in the comments I’d love to hear what’s on your TBR!
