Getting your content noticed on Quora means you need to offer better value than the other answers to a particular question. Although Quora is one of the best places to get free buyer traffic (in my opinion).
It is also an excellent way to boost your Medium presence. But it always is and always will be all about the quality of your content.
You may or may not have seen the hundreds of videos on YouTube. How marketers are boasting about how many sales they generate with Quora.
Believe me, while it is possible, it is not as easy as is often suggested. It is hard work to build a reputation, build trust, and get recognized.
Truth be told, after years of online marketing and failing more times than I can recall. The sad part about most of the boasting videos is that they don’t really tell you much (other than dangling the proverbial carrot in your face).
You need to FOCUS on what you are doing, but more importantly, what you are trying to achieve.
F — Follow.
O — One.
C — Course.
U — Until.
S — Successful.
Yes, you can make a lot of money with Quora and Medium. But NO, it is not going to be all that “easy”.
Never make the mistake of focusing on how much you can earn, but rather focus on the quality of your content and the solutions you can offer your readers.
A proven solution along with the relevant affiliate offer is one of the best “shortcuts” to generate sales online. Your solution needs to be of such value, that your reader does not necessarily need to purchase anything.
If your solution to their problem is really working, then pure curiosity will drive them to your affiliate offer.
Finding the Right Questions to Answer.
Quora is all about questions, and answers. But above all, relevance and the quality of your content along with curious presentation as I have so often mentioned.
I know I may be sounding like a broken record. But that does not change the fact that it is the truth. Content usefulness and presentation are everything!
Be sure you have sufficient knowledge on a subject to offer your reader value, the kind of value nowhere else available on the internet. Knowledge is how you outwork, outperform, and outwit your competitors. Next, on to some more Quora.
In the Quora search bar, type in the keywords/search phrases most relevant to your topic. You will be presented with an array of questions.
Try finding the questions with the most followers, then read a few of the answers already presented. As mentioned above, you need to provide competitive and useful content.
You will find a long list of questions, answers, and so much more. Open each and every one of them. Pay attention to the number of followers and focus on answering these questions as best you can.
However, answering a question is one thing, getting people to actually read it and respond to it (upvotes/shares/comments) is quite another.
For that, to work you also have to build up your own Quora followers and spaces (where you can include your Medium profile). While with anything you do online, your presentation is of paramount importance (images/videos/video thumbnails).
There I go again! Because I cannot place enough exclamation on this!
Because that is the first thing your audience sees when scrolling the home page feed. It must be of such a quality that it forces your visitor to stop scrolling and click on your answer out of pure curiosity.
A curios audience is an active audience and, in most cases, your best chance to actually generate a sale.
This particular question (as an example above) has 12.4K followers. When you answer such a question, all those followers will receive a notification of your answer.
Therefore, you need to offer more value than any other answer. That is the fastest way to build a reputation, and ultimately generate sales.
Connecting Your Medium Content through Relevance.
There is an all-around relevant content flow you need to maintain. Find questions on Quora to answer, related to your Medium article (topic/niche).
The same Medium article should also redirect to your affiliate offer, but you NEVER use affiliate links, we will get to that under the heading “How to Write a Competitive Medium Post.” in this article.
Never include any affiliate offer by using more than two “quote” phrases per article on Medium. Placing two quote blocks strategically with an affiliate offer works well for me.
Although Medium does allow you to include affiliate offers in your posts. There are rules, and you want to read the Medium Ts and Cs personally. I made a mistake (actually, two mistakes) on Medium and had to start over after 5 years!

From your affiliate offer in your Medium article to the article content. Right through, from the Quora question (answer), the content must flow into one primary purpose. Leading your reader to a proven solution to their inquiry and/or need. Offering an answer, a solution, or a guide to reach a certain goal.
Adding your Medium Post to Your Quora Answer.
As with any other platform, be it Quora or any other. Avoid spamming at all costs. There are 2 ways to include a relevant link in a Quora answer.
You may choose to include the link as a footnote by highlighting the text you want to use as the redirect method. Then include the link as a footnote.
Or you can choose the Medium post (relevant to the answer) and just paste the link at the bottom of your answer. Quora will then automatically display it along with the presentation image you have chosen for your Medium article.
But, when you design your Medium post presentation image, be sure to focus any text you use in the image on the centre thereof. This is important because the image will be cropped from the sides.
When your text is focused on the side of the presentation image, your message may be partially cut off.
As illustrated above, this is one presentation image I actually forgot to follow my own advice. As you can see, the image text is only displayed partially.
But with the illustration below, the text is focused more on the centre of the presentation image.
A good image dimension for a presentation image on Medium is “presentation” dimensions of (1920 x 1080).
How to Write a Competitive Medium Post.
In a phrase, “unique useful content” is based on your own personal knowledge through months, and often even years of research and learning.
Yes, I have noticed that a rather popular trend is to copy other people’s high-quality content and then spin the article to “make it your own”.
STOP with that already, because the minute your audience recognizes you as just another copy/paste marketer you will lose all trust and recognition before you even get started.
When that happens, I have only one thing to say to you. “Good luck with generating any sales at all!”. But you will even find it increasingly more difficult for your audiences to trust you!
Losing your audience’s trust will be your most devastating loss! In many cases, that will mean starting all over again. You want to avoid that at all costs, by always being as transparent and honest as possible.
Because there are way too many “experts” these days who don’t know the first thing about being an “expert” in the first place!
If you are a “6- or 7-digit earner”, then prove it. If you are an “SEO expert”, then prove that too. An SEO expert should at least be able to spell correctly and not violate the English language with grammar devastation! I have seen that all too often.
This is the primary reason I never present myself as any kind of “expert”, people are tired of fake “experts” investing in the internet, just chasing the next sale. While hardly offering any value or useful solutions at all!

As mentioned earlier, there are rules to using affiliate offers with Medium. But, seeing I have already covered this, we are just going to look at 3 very important factors.
Before you share any link to an affiliate offer you want to focus on the following first.
Build a Website Or Bridge Page.
Create Online Digital Stores.
Upload YouTube Product Reviews.
Do this for every product you wish to promote individually. Yes, being professional takes that much effort. It is a lot of work if you’re going to compete at a professional level.
As the saying goes “You can’t run with the big dogs and p*ss like a puppy.”
These are the only 3 types of affiliate offer URLs you use anywhere. Indexable URLs like websites, blogs, YouTube videos, articles, etc. From there you redirect to your affiliate offer.
This also puts you on a whole new level of “professional”. Real professionals will never share affiliate links directly anywhere!
