With “real sales” I mean above average, but most certainly not at dotcom millionaire level…yet. That may take a little more time, and that is precisely why it took me that long.
Getting started back in 2011/2012, like most beginners I too was a lead contender in the race to that “magic button”. You know, that button that turns PCs into ATMs overnight?
Yeah, that does not exist and rather disturbing is the way you find out when reality starts setting in.
This is plain old-fashioned misdirection through a rather effective marketing strategy called “proof and testimonials”.
This is where it gets interesting, but also where misdirection sadly plays its part. Proof and testimonials are excellent ways to assure customer satisfaction and create curiosity.
Unfortunately, the proof (impressive sales screenshots) and testimonials are usually legit, with a few exceptions. But there are sites where you can purchase testimonials for a fee, just saying.
Proof and testimonials, being a marketing strategy to build recognition and trust are simply misunderstood. Because it is an indication of what is possible, not necessarily imminent.
Like everyone else, I was just posting links all over the show, creating blogs, websites, email lists, and the rest of the exhausting tasks list.
But I was just throwing stones in a rather large bush in the hope of hitting something, truth be told.
The change however started once I gathered the knowledge and started creating my own strategies and digital products. Setting fixed working hours and having objective tasks to reach a particular goal.
If you are still not sure what your daily tasks as an affiliate marketer is for tomorrow, then you may still be struggling to generate sales with affiliate marketing.
The key is to get your own strategies in place.
Content marketing strategies like answering questions on Quora and redirecting to your Medium posts for instance.
TikTok videos that attract profile views with your blog URL in your bio, where your TikTok profile is also linked to your Instagram and YouTube channel/s.

At some point you are going to get tired of failing, this is where you give up or push back harder. And you have obviously come too far to give up now!
Always give it “just one more try”, until you succeed.
You need to create orders and have specific content marketing strategies in place. Each serves a different purpose to reach a different goal. “Never put all your eggs in one basket!”
Different strategies, different objectives.
Strategies that involve professional online profiles, linking to profiles, and offering competitive content that solves problems. Because you must be a problem solver, not a salesman.
The reality will require you to build an online presence because without recognition you’re “dead in the water”. And to build an online presence as a professional in your field requires the following.
Google Sites.
Published eBooks.
Your Own Digital Products.
Websites.
Blogs.
YouTube Channels.
Social and Writing Platform Profiles (TikTok / Facebook / Instagram / Medium / Twitter / LinkedIn / Patreon / Quora / Reddit / Pinterest / Gab / MeWe)
Your Own FB and LinkedIn Groups and Pages.
Writing Platform Profiles.
Email Lists.
I’m talking about high-quality sites targeted to a specific audience. All of these form part of the larger picture because sales happen in one of 4 places. That is just how the “money machine” works, it has no “magic button”.

From Your Professional Profiles (Linking To Websites, Blogs, YouTube)

Making money online is one of the most competitive niches you can possibly choose. In my rush to get my hands on that “magic button”, that was the niche I naturally went for.
Little did I know the surprise I was in for. And a rather time-consuming one at that.
During my almost 10 years of failure, I have tested more training programs and online money-making strategies than I care to recall. That is the harsh reality of gathering knowledge.
Knowledge is needed to provide competitive useful content that offers solutions to problems, therefore getting recognized. As mentioned earlier, all marketing is usually based on proof.
But with training programs especially you need to “read between the lines” as it were. Aim to always learn more from the program as is offered, and find your own strategies.
Gather the knowledge, making money is just a bonus.
Shift your focus on how much you can learn, from how much you can earn. The money will come if you keep going, but you need to invest in learning first. Forget the “magic button”.
You must start investing in Yourself and get educated.
Affiliate marketing training programs, as mentioned earlier can sometimes be misleading. Or rather easily misunderstood as “overnight riches”. Just focus on the learning part.
Remember that training programs are usually from affiliate marketers who figured out their own strategies. Then turned the strategy or strategies into digital products.
Whether you make money with the strategy is still entirely up to you. But there will always be just one way to find out, test it, and if it works, keep it. F it does not refund your purchase.
Yes, that’s another thing. Always ensure that the program comes with a money-back guarantee. In my opinion, if it does not, then the creators may not have much faith in their products. In which case, neither should you.
The Logic Behind Affiliate Marketing and Sales.
In a sentence, getting the right product in front of the right people at the right time. That is the logic behind profitable affiliate marketing. Your objective is to get a website, blog, YouTube videos, and professional profile visits.
Then you need to maintain your online presence by uploading and publishing consistently. This is a lot of work, especially because you have to out-write and out-design your competitors.
The “right people” or audiences must be GEO-targeted because this establishes affordability. It also makes for a much more “Active” audience!
I’m in South Africa, and when you promote high-ticket affiliate products you will most probably not generate sales.
Promoting a product that costs $1500 (ZAR 25,000) in South Africa means the entire salary to an upper-class income group.
No one is going to spend their entire salary on a single digital product, right? See the logic?
Where a product ranging from $49 — $97 dollars may be more profitable.
You're targeting both keywords and search phrases will fail if you target the wrong GEO-located audience.
Then there’s timing, you must figure out the time for you to post from your side, that will receive the most response from your GEO targeted audience.
Personally, my best working hours are from 10 PM — 11 AM on my side, making it around 11 PM — 10 AM where my GEO targeted audience is located.
Should I post and publish from 10 PM — 11 AM on my side, my audience will be sleeping.
Thus defeating the traffic attempt and purpose entirely, let alone sales, none of that going to happen at that time. But these are just a few pointers, as I see this article is headed towards eBook!
Last but not least, you need to set working hours. You are still at work and not on holiday and should maintain the pattern as if you were working for a boss.
