None of us knows what the future holds for Medium. As writers join and leave the platform, the algorithm’s recommendations will ebb and flow. Those of us who create content scramble to compete for “the Boost.” Others write for their echo chamber…or for a niche audience.

So it’s now time for my Winter 2024 edition. As per my approach to compiling these — some articles may have been published in previous years, but I didn’t discover them until the end of 2023 or the beginning of 2024.

I always divide my featured selection into nine different categories: Politics, Race, Gender & Sexuality, Disability, Religion, Intersectionality, Wokeness, Human Behavior, and Environmentalism.
