It’s a North Indian style beans stir fry or beans sabzi that goes well in an Indian meal with roti or chapati. One of my favorite recipe and really easy to prepare. Scroll down to get the detailed recipe.

Servings: Serves 2

Ingredients :

1 cup green beans, finely chopped

1 onion, finely chopped

1 tomato, finely chopped

1/4 tsp turmeric powder

1/2 tsp Ginger-garlic paste

1/4 tsp cumin seeds

2 tbsp oil

3 tbsp coriander leaves, finely chopped

1 tsp red chili powder

1/2 tsp garam masala

Salt to taste

1/4 Water

Method:

  • Heat oil in a pan on medium flame, add cumin seeds.
  • Add and saute the onion in that with ginger-garlic paste and turmeric powder.
  • Add finely chopped green beans, salt, 1/4 cup of water and cover the lid and allow to cook in medium heat for 10 mins or until tender (do not over cook the beans. It should be little crispy).
  • Add tomatoes, red chili powder, garam masala powder, salt (if needed), and finely chopped coriander leaves. Mix all together and cook them for another 5 mins in low flame, stirring occasionally.
  • Switch off the flame and the delicious beans sabzi ready to taste.
  • Garnish with finely chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with roti/chapati.
