About a week ago today, thirty individuals were enjoying Thanksgiving dinner thanks to Teles.

Working with the charitable organization Big Sunday, Teles sponsored them via their 5th annual Thanksgiving Stuffing Event. Through Teles’ efforts, more than thirty people were able to enjoy a Thanksgiving dinner.

Big Sunday is an apolitical, non-religious organization that connects people who want to help with those who need it. Their mission statement says “Here’s the thing: we believe that we’re all in this together. That’s why we offer an enormous variety of opportunities and projects that unite people to improve lives, build community and give everyone a sense of belonging…We have participants of all ages, backgrounds and abilities. They come from all kinds of different neighborhoods, and we do work in all kinds of different neighborhoods, too. People take part in Big Sunday projects through schools, faith groups, businesses, clubs, as families and as individuals. Whoever you are, whatever you do, we can use your help…we feel there’s lots of work to be done — but we get so much more accomplished, and have so much more fun, when we do it all together.”

Best of all, Teles’ efforts were very much appreciated. David Levinson, Founder and Executive Director of Big Sunday, had this to say in the following email:

“We had a wonderful Thanksgiving, and an amazing day-before Thanksgiving. In fact, many of you were there! More than 1100 people came to our 5th Annual Big Sunday Thanksgiving Stuffing event, and we were able to fill and give away more than 2100 bags full of delicious food for more than 70 nonprofits agencies. Not only was this more than we’d planned for, but people brought so much that day that we even have extras to give us a jump on our collection for December! Between volunteers, collectors, donors, and recipients (and many of the people involved fit into more than one category!) more than 10,000 good-hearted people were touched by this one event.

For those who were able to be there, I hope you were able to enjoy some of the many things going on — whether it was stuffing bags full of food; filling cars and trucks full of bags of food; filling your plate full of pastry, donuts and coffee; doings tons of crafts to help others; writing about what you’re thankful for; raising money for our Emergency Fund; listening to some great bluegrass; joining in the conga line (yep); or just meeting someone new. There was, for sure, a feeling that we are so all in it together. That’s what we always try to do here. Thank you all, very, very much for your great and generous part in that.

Please know that absolutely none of this would have been possible without you. Thanks again, and we hope to see you again soon!”

Teles is proud to have contributed to such an amazing organization. And their conga line. As the holiday season gets under way, Teles looks forward to getting fully in the spirit and expanding it’s charitable efforts in order to help others do the same.
