We Don’t Ordinarily Do This…

Make It Work

Ok. We don’t normally do this, but we’re taking these last few days before the election to get serious. Like…really serious.

We’ve worked hard to keep people talking about the issues that keep them up at night. Right now, affordable child care, paid leave, equal pay, living wages — some of the biggest economic issues facing our pocketbooks — are part of a growing national conversation that real people in America started.

As of fall 2016, it’s hard not to find news about businesses who are helping employees find time to care. It’s hard not to hear about the rising cost of child care. It’s hard not to find a pay gap denier willing to engage healthy (or nonsensical) debate. But we want to take a moment to stop talking about the data, and start talking about the people; real people like you, and real people like the members of our Make It Work family, who aren’t simply quoting stats — they’re living this sh*t.

We’re going to shut up for a minute, and let them tell you in their own words, exactly how they make it work.

Then, maybe — just maybe — you’ll see why we need more than elected leaders who talk a good game about these issues. We need elected leaders who will actually bring about the change real people in America so desperately need. Meet a few Real People of America.
