There are many ways to connect on social media these days. If you want to share photos with your friends, you can do that on Facebook and Instagram. If you want to hear what your favorite celebrities and brands are saying, you’ve got Twitter. If you want to advance your career or make professional connections, there’s LinkedIn. But there is nowhere to go to connect with others who want to make the world a better place. And by others, I mean everyone. Connect with everyone who wants to make the world a better place. We can make a bigger impact with social media. Utilizing all our networks to investigate issues, gather data and evaluate evidence-based solutions to social issues can lead to real change. Our message to you: It’s time to get real.

#RealSocial

Citizen’s Cafe is your empowerment platform. Our aim is to be the central hub for connecting people who want to make the world a better place. And not only connect you, but also provide the tools and resources to enable your success.

We want you to shine the spotlight on political corruption.

We want you to expose corporate misdeeds.

We want you to set the record straight when blatantly false information is being talked about as if it’s true.

We want to EMPOWER YOU with a central hub for active citizen engagement; a game changing BIG BRAND to identify with for all of us who want to make the world a better place. It starts with information and it starts with you. Knowledge is indeed power and from knowledge all great things are possible. I have faith in that. I have faith in the power of ordinary people, to grasp it. And I have faith in the transformative change that is possible when knowledge is combined with what makes us human — empathy.

Knowledge + Empathy = BIG TRANSFORMATIVE CHANGE

Such a movement backed-up with the power of a Big Brand; such a collective force of individuals who come together under one banner for the straight forward task of sorting fact from fiction, who simply want to live in an honest world where the truth prevails, where lies and manipulation no longer have the enabling power that lets less honest people get ahead; such a network of hearts and minds has the power of big transformative change.

That’s how the world becomes a better place — by working together. By cooperation and collaborative efforts we can make a difference. In fact, those are the only means by which we humans were able to achieve such success compared to other species. If we didn’t work together, we wouldn’t be here right now.

All we simply need are the right tools to help us in our efforts. Yes, in fact…we really can. And we don’t need to depend on any leader to do it for us. We’re all leaders in this regard.

In a true democracy, the power always rests in the hands of the people.

There’s a reason Citizen’s Cafe is called your empowerment platform. The Internet has given rise to the Media Age. One where we are surrounded and consumed by endless information. But this is no real Information Age. The Information Age is still a dream, one that has not yet been fully realized.

Imagine a real Information Age…

One where you’re not stuck searching the entire unstructured web of information on the Internet, burdened by endless search results. One where your effort at sharing information with others is meaningful and relevant. One where you can challenge the status quo body of knowledge. One where information is no longer a one-way medium.

The real Information Age is one where you not only receive information, you interact with it.

Imagine a world where you find reliable answers to your questions quickly. Where search engines return a relevant set of answers that you are able to review, interact with, and dispute meaningfully using the support of real data for all to share. A world where you also have confidence that the answer you are looking at is the right one. Imagine a world where each of us has a meaningful space to discuss and analyze our values, giving us the opportunity to incorporate these values into the decisions that shape our communities. Imagine a world where, before deciding on a solution to a problem, we can all agree upon the problem that we are solving first. Imagine a world where we can actually agree on the best solution to a problem because that solution was exposed as having the best evidence towards success. Imagine a world where social media elevates our impact and makes it easier to make the world a better place.

These are the challenges that Citizen’s Cafe is taking on, and precisely the kind of world we intend to create.
