“The tests that we undergo are nothing else than battles between the evil spirits and the angels who are present with us.” There are people who do not believe they are in the company of spirits while living in this world, when, in fact, as far as our deepest levels are concerned, we are continually surrounded by spirits and angels.”

Emanuel Swedenborg(1688–1772)

True events inspired my story.

Three of my closest women friends had agreed to meet after work for dinner. Our intention was to catch up with each other’s lives and laugh at the usual chaos and drama that surrounded our individual circumstances.

As we greeted each other with hugs and smiles inside the entrance of the restaurant, we noticed the lightning and the sound of thunder becoming intense as the three of us followed our server to a small table near a fireplace. A warm, inviting fire greeted us, jazz music was playing in the background, and we could not have been happier.

As I glanced around the room, I noticed a dark-haired, brooding man staring at us from the bar. I could best describe him as looking similar to Edward Cullen (Robert Patterson), one of the main vampires in the famous Twilight Saga.

He walked to our table, introduced himself, and asked if he could sit and talk with us until our food arrived. This man was extremely pleasant and interesting. However, I noticed there was something dark, heavy, and foreboding in his presence. We were discussing a meditation class that we were attending the following weekend at United Research, Inc. (The Light Center) email: Dome@urlight.org; the location was Black Mountain, North Carolina. The class would continue throughout the day, and we would practice the techniques, which would hopefully ensure our discipline and spiritual connection while in meditation. Immediately, this man asked if he could attend this class with us. I told him we would get back to him after we discussed the specific time and location where we would meet. I took his phone number and promised a follow-up call.

Everyone agreed to meet and spend the day learning about meditation and the benefits of this practice.

During the drive to North Carolina, the man discussed with me the voices that were plaguing him. He confessed they had been torturing him for years with negative comments about himself and his life. Recently, they had become unbearable, and these voices were telling him to kill himself, and they were offering specific suggestions on how this should be done. I knew intuitively the man was not lying or exaggerating his pain. His fear was that these voices would win in the end.

I consoled him to the best of my abilities and suggested learning and practicing meditation might be helpful. As we arrived at the parking lot for The Light Center in North Carolina, we noticed that approximately 75 people were attending this class. And as we made our way through registration and introductions, we selected our seats for the day.

I noticed there were meditation instructors, approximately a group of 15 men and women at the corner of a large room in a dome-shaped building; and they were staring at us. These stares continued throughout the day and during the class. We had a one-hour break for lunch, and we continued practicing meditation and learning new techniques until the end of the class. The class was the beginning of my meditation journey and my discovery of its importance in my life. Today, I am extremely grateful for this experience and the wonderful people I met.

After the class, the instructors who had been staring at my new friend approached us with smiles on their faces. They asked my friend how he felt after his all-day meditation experience. He confided in us; he had never felt better. As I looked at him, I saw a very different person, one who looked younger, happier, very much at peace, and who was talking with these instructors as if he had known them his entire life. The instructors explained they could see the dark entity, the negative attachment that surrounded him. They had been working during the day to clear his energetic field and force this dark entity away from him.

They knew nothing about our discussion or his suicidal thoughts.

During the conversation with the instructors, my friend admitted he had suffered from depression, and had been taking anti-depression medication for twenty-five years. The instructors confessed that depression, anxiety, and addictions of any kind, as well as the medications offered to treat the symptoms, created an imbalance in the energetic body of the human. This leads to negative entities attaching themselves to the individual because they are in a weakened state. He asked them about a solution and they offered their best advice; find the root cause of your depression, anxiety, or addictions and be willing to make the necessary changes in your life.

Within one week, we were practicing our meditation together and witnessed further paranormal activity. My lights were on dimmers and the lights would dim slowly and completely go out and come back on. We could hear noises of banging and something knocking on the walls trying to get our intention. At one point, my friend asked me what was going on and I told him it was the entity around him and it wanted to attach itself to him again. We continued with meditation, the Lord’s prayer, and asking for the higher realm (angels) to help us force it to leave, and eventually, it did.

My friend was a new person. This experience changed his life completely. His attitude was positive because, for the first time in 25 years, he was at peace. Everyone in this man’s life could see the change in him. He was excited about life. His boss was so impressed with his new attitude and wardrobe that he received two promotions and later received a wonderful new job opportunity to travel the world. He learned that the spirit world exists and how to protect and value himself.

I discovered for myself the power of meditation. I use meditation as a method to be silent within myself. On the path of self-discovery, the inner journey, I choose to explore my own questions and find my own answers. I was born with the talent of self-reflection and was suddenly aware of the observer in myself during a crisis at nineteen years of age. If a person is sincere and desires to discover the truth about him/herself and the relationship to the Divine Intelligence that permeates through the universe, one must be STILL. In this stillness, one learns to connect with this intelligence. The Lord’s Prayer is a prayer of protection; use it daily. The most challenging lesson for most humans is to acknowledge the best course of action is to let everything that one believes and thinks about one’s self go (this is often referred to as the death of the ego); only then will one discover one’s true self.

In the writings of Emanuel Swedenborg, he explains that there are dark, evil entities that group together and target humans who suffer from particular addictions. They collectively encourage in thought form the individual to give into his addictions and cravings so that they may live vicariously through the experience. These negative, evil entities suffered from the same addictions while living on earth and want to experience these atrocities through the living human.

SUICIDE WORLDWIDE IN 2019

More than 700,000 persons die by suicide every year globally.

“NONE OF US CAN POSSIBLY FIGHT EVIL AND FALSITY UNTIL WE KNOW HOW TO RECOGNIZE THEM.” Emanuel Swedenborg

Emanuel Swedenborg lived in the 18th century and was a Swedish scientist, Christian mystic, spiritual teacher, philosopher, and theologian. He was born in Stockholm, Sweden, on January 29, 1688.

He had a spiritual awakening at 56 years of age and wrote 32 books on his theological views and related topics. They founded the Swedenborgian Church of North America and the Swedenborg Foundation upon Swedenborg’s unique understanding and perspective of the spiritual world. (website: swedenborg.org.)

He derived his unique understanding from his personal experiences with the spiritual world. He was a scientist and was told, in the spirit world, he could write about these insights because of his ability to be detailed while recording his findings. His e-books are available and can be downloaded for free from the Swedenborg Foundation.

IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT EMANUEL SWEDENBORG USED A PEN NAME FOR YEARS BECAUSE HE WAS A WELL-KNOWN SCIENTIST, SCHOLAR, THEOLOGIAN, AND POLITICIAN. HE WAS AWARE IN THE 18TH CENTURY OF THE RULES OF THE STATUS QUO AND HOW PEOPLE SHUNNED IDEAS OUTSIDE THE NORM.

Socrates (470-BCE-399 BCE) “The unexamined life is not worth living.”

Socrates was a Greek philosopher whose Socratic method laid the groundwork for Western systems of logic and philosophy. He believed that the individuals in the government should have the greatest ability, knowledge, and virtue while possessing a complete understanding of themselves.

Socrates often talked about being guided by a divine inner voice he called a daemon. This spirit would communicate with him as an inner voice and, while it did not tell him what to do, it would often guide him away from harm.

THE DAEMON OF SOCRATES: EZEKIEL 33.3

SOCRATES SPOKE OF THE SOUL AS AN INTELLIGENT BEING, NOT VISIBLE, NOT PERCEPTIBLE, BUT SHARES ITS FUNCTION WITH THE DIVINE.

IN 399 B.C. SOCRATES WAS SENTENCED TO DEATH BY HEMLOCK POISONING. IT HAS BEEN SUGGESTED THAT THE POLITICAL CLIMATE CHANGED BUT ALSO HIS OPEN DISCUSSION REGARDING THIS INNER SPIRIT THAT HE COMMUNICATED WITH SEEMED TO BE THE NAIL IN THE COFFIN.

Joan of Arc (1412–1431) is a patron Saint of France. She was a peasant girl who believed that she heard voices from Saint Michael, Saint Catherine of Alexander, and Saint Margaret. They guided her to lead the French army victoriously in Orleans after an English attempt to conquer France. She was a female visionary, who possessed remarkable mental and physical courage, as well as common sense. The English and their French collaborators burned Joan of Arc to death as a heretic on May 30, 1431.

Swedenborg, Socrates, and Joan of Arc openly discussed their communication with spirits; and there are many people who have done the same throughout our history. Our civilization, at any age, does not welcome these discussions and seems to suppress them while thousands of people have met their deaths because of being open and honest about their experiences.

Today, in the 21st century, some people believe there is more to our existence than what we see, while others believe there is nothing behind the meaning of our lives or deaths. It is interesting to me that the three people who I have mentioned in this article are no longer alive but certainly have left their mark on our history and civilization.

The ambiguity is what I find most interesting. There are few discussions on the spirit world because the people who discuss these related topics are usually ostracized and not taken seriously. Investigations and research into these matters are indicating there is much more to these topics than most people are aware of.

In the scientific world, quantum physics suggests that everything is energy and energy never dies. CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research Science discovered there were initially four (4) dimensions, and later some of the theorists predicted there were six (6) additional dimensions. The obvious would point to the idea that there is a great deal of space and or dimensions, in which energy must exist. So why not embrace the idea that spirits exist in the space surrounding you and have more influence on your life than you can imagine? These are definitely ideas to ponder.

Not all spirits are evil; evil spirits seem to encourage negativity in self-talk and actions. Ultimately, the evil spirits want us dead and according to the people who are aware of their influences, they encourage suicide.

The good spirits seem to be helpful and are the inner voice that wants the absolute best for you. Some of the good voices are considered angels and their role is to protect and guide the human through its life’s journey.

There are always two paths in front of the human. One path leads to honor, righteousness, and spiritual advancement, and the other to destruction, deceit, and chaos. One has only to develop the eyes of discernment and observe the consequences of one’s actions. Suffering is not mandatory but apparently, the only method by which the human can learn.

The age-old image of the human with one angel on one side of his shoulder and the devil on the other side could be more true than not.

Always ask for protection from the Divine and the angels. And do your best daily to bring the best version of yourself forward. Take the inner journey to discover your true self and a direct relationship with God, the Divine.

“Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the spirit of God dwelleth in you?” If you can clarify and expand your mind through meditation, and receive God in your consciousness, you too will be free from the delusion of disease, limitations, and death.”

Paramahansa Yogananda, in The Divine Romance

1 Corinthians 3:16

“GOD IS THE ABSOLUTE REALITY UNDERLYING EVERYTHING.”

“HE WHO IS IN EVIL, IS ALSO IN THE PUNISHMENT OF EVIL.”
