Which chords are preferred in advertisements’ songs?

Advertisements prefer simple and happy chord progressions. The goal is to set a positive mood and not distract from the message.
Typical examples are:
- Just one major chord (e.g. C)
- Alternating between a chord and its relative minor (e.g. C Am)
- Using very familiar chord progressions like I V vi IV (e.g. C G Am F)
The chords are usually kept as simple triads with no extensions or options — although you can throw in a 7 or 9 occasionally for effect.
