4 Novels that changed my mindset

There comes a time when you pick up the first novel to read. Then there comes a moment when you complete the first novel. And then comes a milestone when you reach 2 digit figures in the no. of novels you completing. And so on.
Over the life, when you see back, you realise that some novels have great impact on you than others. Some changed you. Some rerouted your lifepaths. And those are the novels which I am going to list here!
In my short life of 23 years, I began reading first novel at the age of 17 by bunking the classes in school and sitting in library to complete it. Ever since then, I have completed reading just 27 Novels in my life. Most of them are from Non-Fiction genre which inlcudes Self-help, Philosophy and Spirituality. My own personal target is to complete 24 more novels before the year 2017 ends.
Out of all those 27, the 4 Novels that drastically transformed me are:
1) How to Win Friends and Influence People
by Dale Carnegie

It took me One and a half year to complete this wonderful novel-cum-guide by Dale Carnegie.
It is a very dense book with each page having so many things to learn. I am greatly influenced by this novel.
I had made 2 Posters of Principles mentioned in the novel & pasted them onto the walls of my room. Those posters are still there as I write this post.
2) Same Soul, Many Bodies.
by Brian Weiss

This is One of the best novels that I ever read in my life. And it is best novel by Brian Weiss, better than his first Hit, Many Lives Many Masters.
Brian Weiss, is a World Renowned Physiotherapist who uses Hypnosis & PLR (Past-Life-Regression) Therapy to solve problems of the client.
In this novel, few of the regressions were so profound, touching and enlightening that I literally cried while reading them.
The entire novel is categorized into the chapters which are actually the Lessons to be learned in life. This piece of wisdom is capable of evoking the humanity within us.
3) Living with Honour
by Shiv Khera

Living with Honour was the novel I read in times when I was crossing the Ultimate Eighteens. Just like any other teenager, Morals, values, or ethics were really an unexplored territory for me.
However, thanks to a Kind College Professor, who handed over me this novel to read. And from that day on, I never remained the same guy EVER. This 200 Pages, changed me from the core. It revolves around Ethics & Principles — their importance in life and Values in family and society.
It is better to be honoured than to be honoured.
4) The Conscious Parent
by Dr. Shefali Tsabary

Dr. Shefali Tsabary has a way of opening eyes, and that is Self Questioning-Confrontation-& Guilt! In this extraordinary book on parenting, she is the first writer who has turned the tables of “who needs to be corrected” when it comes to parenting. She highlights that it is the parents who needs to be straighten, not children. Out of shear unconscious existence, we parents parent as if its intuitive and automatically comes with a birth.
The insights she showed here have touched me to the core most of my heart. There are moments in book when you literally find yourself as one of those parents exampled. You find yourself getting an ephipanic moment almost every chapter. No matter whether you have a toddler, a teenager, a grown up or about to have one, this book will definitely resonate with you.
And at last, I would Mention a novel that I am currently going through as I write this article!
Give and Take
by Adam Grant

I have completed hardly 1/4th of this novel, but it is so enticing, that I guess it would soon be a part of above list!
My personal experience says that After Meditation, it is the novels that have shaped my thinking, character and life the most. And in today’s generation, I find that people are slowly disconnecting themselves from reading novels. This is the most hazardous step that humanity would take. Learning from other people’s experiences of truth can not only guide us, but can also motivate us to find the truth through our own experiences. So I wish, you as a reader of this article, do help your own self by reading at least one novel, may be from above list or some other within the next 30 days of your existence. That would be best investment in your personal development, as opposed to buying an Iphone!
