The Publication Pipeline: Audio to Medium Post

A (semi-)automated publication workflow from recorded insight to eloquent Medium post, as the first MVP output of our labor

Our approach at Re-Generative.AI has always been to automate as many aspects of our workflow as possible.

Applying this principle reflectively means starting with automating how we publish here on Medium:

The raw form of our content usually are audios since our best ideas emerge in conversation with each other.

For an MVP we have taken the simple version of a short (90 seconds max) excerpt with only one person sharing an insight.

Here is our process:

Step 1. We have taken an audio (here the link to original recording including nature background ;) & transcribed it with otter.ai

and then prompted Chat GPT 4 with a series of 3 prompts and some custom instructions:

Remember that this is sharing our quick & easy actual workflow, not what we would recommend you to use for production ;)

1. Cleaning Prompt

Remove any metadata such as timestamps or speakers
Keep all the words in their original composition, only make the following changes:

Identify concepts and capitalize them — do not use all caps
If a phrase or sentence does not make sense, put it into parentheses
Improve the punctuation

Remove the following fillers and redundant connectors

2. Parsing Prompt

I will provide you a transcript of an audio note of a single person sharing an idea. I want to publish this idea on medium. I have cleaned it of any filler words already and now I want to analyze and parse it before handing it off to another LLM to formulate a blog post in my personal style

First,

- How many central ideas are in this text ?

- Do all ideas relate to the same underlying problem? If not, separate the sentences from the text according to their ideas — mention those that seem to relate to several.
