After launching the Open Beta version in September 2021, as the first to represent real-world events in unique NFT collectibles, we are not going to slow down with new improvements.

With the latest update, each outcome on Reality Cards looks now like a unique digital collectible card. The new look, as seen in your wallet and across every NFT marketplace it is sold on, is something far more “tangible” closer to the physical trading cards you were trading with your friends and neighbors during your childhood. We wish Reality Cards NFTs to become the digital version of that and always remind you of the history we lived together with each event passes.

That’s why we want to put Reality Cards NFTs in more players' hands (wallets) rewarding Top-10 players of the winning Card’s leaderboard with an NFT!

Let’s start with the winning and losing Cards

If you’ve been on Reality Cards before the update, then you are aware of the winning and losing NFT Cards.

Before an event, the possible outcomes are rewarding the longest owner (top of the leaderboard) of each Card with an NFT regardless of its post-event status (winner or loser.)

This is not changing, however, with the new design, after an event occurs with one outcome coming out as the winner, the winning Card turns green while the losing turns grey.

Cards’ leaderboards: OGs and Print NFTs

Renting a Card makes you a stakeholder of that outcome, depending on your accumulated time. The players with the longest rent duration reach the top of the leaderboard.

OG NFTs

The top player on any of the Card’s leaderboards gets a one-of-a-kind OG NFT. There is only one OG NFT for each event. The OG NFT comes with an OG badge, enclosed in a unique casing, and has the QR code as well as a link to that event, giving it a much special look.

Print NFTs

After the top player on a leaderboard gets the OG NFT, only for the winning Card’s leaderboard, players with ranks 2–10 get a Print NFT. What this means is that 9 copies of the OG NFT will be won by the top 9-winners on that leaderboard. The Card design on these NFTs is slightly different.

These are new NFTs ready to be won for each event!

In summary, while the winning Card gives 10 NFTs to the Top-10 players, the losing outcome gives just 1 NFT to the number one player.

Get started now by renting a card

Have you heard enough of our explanations? Get on board right away!

To begin making predictions on Reality Cards, you need a funded MetaMask wallet set to Polygon network. Fund size depends on what price are you willing to pay per hour to rent your favorite Card. However, in some cases, as little as $100 is needed to make a profit or even win a Print NFT.

Explore the available events on Reality Cards, choose and rent a Card. Renting a Card means you temporarily own its NFT until someone takes it off from you by paying a higher rent. While you are the owner the rent is gradually deducted from your deposit balance while the time is acquired.

Now the fun part! If your chosen Card emerges as the winning outcome and you are in the Top-10 of its leaderboard, you get to keep an NFT.

Digging deeper with an actual event!

The “What will Jeff Bezos net worth be after Christmas?’’ is the first event featuring Prints for the winning Card.

For this event, there are two possible outcomes but only one can be correct at the given point of time (in this case, on 26th December 2021). It is either “Less than $200B” or “$200B or more”.

Let’s assume four hypothetical players Davy, Jane, Kevin, and Steven with Davy and Jane renting the “Less than $200B” Card while Kevin and Steven get hold of the “$200B or more” Card.

If the event is open for a total of one day and one hour and:

  • Davy rents the “Less than $200B” Card for one day,
  • Jane rents the same Card for just one hour,
  • Kevin rents the “$200B or more” Card for one day as well,
  • And Steven rents it for one hour too.

If the event ends with Jeff Bezos's net worth being less than $200B after Christmas, the “Less than $200B” Card wins, so only Davy and Jane are making a profit for guessing right. Yet, three people are leaving with an NFT:

  • Davy gets the OG NFT of the winning Card with the most ownership time on this Card.
  • Jane gets a Print NFT of the winning Card for guessing right and being in the Top-10 of the Card’s leaderboard.
  • Kevin gets the OG NFT of the losing Card with the most ownership time on this Card.

Steven is not getting an NFT because there are no Print NFTs for the losing Card. Anyway, he has plenty of chances to get his money back and win other NFTs in the upcoming events, as all the events post Christmas 2021 are rewarding Top-10 players with NFTs. Check these events on realitycards.io!
