Reality Cards Is Moving To Polygon

We’ve heard you loud and clear, the community requested it — so we’re making it happen. Reality Cards is moving to Polygon. Before we dive into specific details surrounding the move, we want to mention right away where you can access everything. Nothing of yours will be deleted and you’ll be given ample time to migrate from xDai to Polygon.

So why are we moving, what does this mean for you, and what can you expect next? We’ve got the answer to all of your questions below.

Why We’re Moving

Community Requested

Reality Cards wouldn’t be half as successful as it is without the community surrounding it. Your opinions and voice matter to us and guide our decisions on how to best improve the platform to be as enjoyable and easy-to-use as possible. One of the most requested items the community had, was to use Polygon, here’s why we decided to go this route:

dApp Support + High TVL

Polygon has a high number of dApps that are currently supported in addition to having nearly 8 billion in Total Value Locked (TVL). These two things go hand-in-hand and will bring immediate value to our users.

By supporting a large number of dApps it’s much easier for Reality Card winners to spend their winnings in-ecosystem. Additionally, with such a high TVL it’s much more likely that users already have funds on the chain, eliminating the need to transfer assets.

Opensea Support

One of the many dApps supported by Polygon is Opensea. This allows users to stay inside the same ecosystem after winning on Reality Cards to be able to sell or auction their NFT on the open market without having to deal with bridges or transferring out-of-network.

How To Access

In order to participate in the Reality Cards Polygon Beta there is a process to complete before you’re allowed access to the platform:

• Users who have already been Whitelisted for the previous (xDai) Beta have automatically been Whitelisted for the current beta (Polygon) and can immediately use the platform.
• For newcomers, all we need is your wallet address and Discord username. To request access, fill out this form and join the Reality Cards Discord server (link provided in form).

What To Expect

What happens to my tokens (xDai)?

Your deposited xDai and any winnings from events will need to be manually removed from the platform. This can be done in the same way you deposited your initial xDai on the platform and then moved off xDai via a Bridge. We will keep a URL up that will be accessible here: oldbeta.realitycards.io so there is plenty of time for funds to be removed.

What happens to my NFT Cards?

All NFTs will remain on the xDai Network unless you move them manually. You can do this using tools like uNFT Wallet to transfer assets from xDAI to somewhere else like Ethereum Mainnet. But please keep in mind that your NFTs will not be part of the official Reality Cards collection. There will be no reference from BETAs to our new UI on Mainnet launch.

• Among Us Community Play-Along happening Thursday, July 29th @ 2:00 PM UTC. Join the Reality Cards team on the official Reality Cards YouTube Channel for a group play along of Among Us.
• Reality Cards Community Call #1 happening Friday, July 30th at 2:00 PM UTC. We’ll have Reality Card team members on to provide status updates on the project, provide insights on upcoming POAP campaigns, as well as distribute an exclusive Reality Cards Community Call POAP to those who watch the livestream.

Additionally, alexcerveza#1895 and Unvetica.eth#1313 have been hard at work cooking up some new initiatives that will be debuted very soon. This includes a new YouTube series on NFT news within the Ethereum ecosystem, special limited-run NFTs, in addition to forming relationships and collaborations bringing Reality Cards closer to being the top of mind prediction market & NFT collectible arena.
