We are back with the content “Introduction to Reapchain’s Major Partners”!

Following the partner “TilkoBlet” introduced last day, the partner I will introduce today is “Seoul National University”.

What is Seoul National University Distributed Systems Lab?

Distributed Computing Systems Lab

We research a broad spectrum of issues to enhance the performance of I/O and the reliability of data in single or distributed systems. By bridging the gap between OS storage stack and storage device, we make the best use of the new features of recent storage devices. Intelligent resource-scheduling enables a distributed system to process data with high resource utilization. In addition, our research focuses on applying protection mechanisms to various software layers to prevent critical data loss. The direction of our work will lead to high-performance/high-reliability computer systems and satisfy the diverse requirements of users.

So, what was the partnership with Reapchain?

The Internet of Things (IoT) blockchain mainnet project, ReapChain, announced on the 12th that it has signed a joint R&D contract to advance the two-way consensus algorithm (PoDC) in cooperation with the distributed system laboratory of Seoul National University.

The contract ceremony held at the ReapChain Seoul office on the 11th was attended by ReapChain CEO Jeong-han Lee, Vice President Kim Doo-sik, Director Kim Seong-jin, and Professor Eom Hyun-sang of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Seoul National University.

Prof. Hyeonsang Eom is attracting domestic and international attention, such as receiving the Best Paper Award at the 2017 Cluster Society, hosted by the American Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), a world-class conference in the field of high-performance computing and distributed computing.

ReapChain and Seoul National University’s lab have decided to research a blockchain with advanced functions and stability such as:

- Stand-alone PoDC consensus module & Qmanger basic function implementation work.
— ReapChain protocol function matching completion and performance evaluation.
— Full node response failure handling and performance security, etc. did.
