Power Company A produces electricity by planning monthly total power supply based on required power consumption data of each household obtained from IoT platform.
There has been incidents that data transmitted from existing smart meters used at homes are forged, and incorrect data is displayed and transmitted to the power company so that monthly power plan of the company is disrupted.
Power Company A adopted Reapchain BaaS and solved the data security problem. The smart home device with Reap SDK is assigned a private key, which is a unique ID for each device, and the company verifies if the device is authenticated. The company can plan and produce monthly accurate total power supply based on uncontaminated power consumption data.
As the number of households using smart home systems increases, a large amount of data can be generated during times when the amount of power consumption surges. The existing IoT power grid structure used by Power Company A, to process a large amount of data quickly, new technologies such as edge computing or installing of a separate device are needed. It causes the company the problem of maintaining and managing new technology and separate devices.
