4 Ways to Conquer the Desire to Fight Change
What are you waiting for?
In January, I would wager a guess that you set some goals for yourself or made some resolutions to make changes in your life. Now that the year is almost four months old, how is it going? Are you still on track, or have you abandoned those goals and resolutions?
Why we abandon goals and fight change?
I get it. Change is difficult. Change is scary. Change can be painful.
Sometimes the fight to maintain healthy change comes from within; sometimes, however, the fight is all around us. I think you know what I am talking about.
The Internal Fight
We fight change with self-doubt. Self-doubt is that voice in your head that confirms a limiting belief that you couldn’t follow through with your goals.
We fight change with self-sabotage. Self-sabotage is stopping at the grocery store and picking up cookies with your other groceries. Self-sabotage is booking your schedule so full that there is no time for exercise.
The External Fight
You decide to make your wellness a priority, but your family or friends can’t understand why you pass up the sugary desserts at family gatherings, crawl…
