RebelDot after one year: sugar, spice and everything nice?
Here we are, one year after our CEO decided to acquire the Services Division of our mother company and turn it into an independent company.
A bold decision. The one that shifted our way of doing things and our culture almost completely.
A year in which we faced losses, tears, struggles but also happiness, smiles, and unlimited hugs. A year driven by our desire to go against all odds. But to go against them TOGETHER, as a team, as a family, as Rebels.

A Rebel us
Being Rebel is something that always suited us well and at the beginning of our year as a new company, we took a bold statement about who we are and what do we stand for. After an intense yet rewarding branding process, we came up with the name: RebelDot. The perfect summary of our innovative and creative side mixed with an engineering mindset. Since then we tried to make you part of our Yellow and Black family with all our Social Media posts.
Our people
We must confess something: our team is our core. They have shown a great amount of courage, passion and ambition this year. Fighting together to make RebelDot the place where we all love to be. Turning ourselves into more than colleagues. Becoming a family with every new Monday, every new coffee or foosball game played in our kitchen.
Our people are our best asset. They are the main drivers of our culture and for us is very important that every new joiner to our team fits the culture. This year 15 new Rebels joined our team.
Our Clients
Although we faced the specific challenges of the IT industry (we all know how dynamic everything is) we brought onboard 12 new clients from various industries. From sports analytics and offshore wind to advertising, navigation app, color management and rental property management.
Different industries, lots of challenges and cool technologies are the perfect words summarizing the experience with our clients.

Bold internal policies
The ride towards a Rebel us lead to courageous policies. :)
After an intense thinking process, we decided to implement an unlimited holiday policy. Say whaaaat?! Yes, exactly.
The year continued with other bold decisions such as: giving up seniorities (we are evaluated based on performance, not titles) and accepting crypto payments from our clients.
Certifications
When it comes to the certification side our first year was full of accomplishments. Keeping our Microsoft Gold Certification is proof of how we do our work and the skills set of our colleagues. Moreover, we have become the first and only Blockchain certified company in Eastern Europe by Blockchain Training Alliance and our colleague was certified as Blockchain Architect.

Internal Products
Being Rebels is characterized by our openness to new challenges.
That’s why in the first year as Rebels we have developed not one but two internal products. One is related to gathering feedback in an interactive and quick way and the other one is about replacing the famous pen and paper visitor’s registration system.
We will soon give you more details about them. :)

We’ve already told you that we like to spend time together and to get to know each other. What better way than enjoying some cool and fun internal events?
From our first Barbeque Day as RebelDot, the scary yet yummy Halloween and the traditional 1st of December to the funny and innocent Kids Party, the up-until-5-AM Christmas Party, the badass Ski Trip, the emotional 8th of March, the welcoming of the Easter Bunny and going back to childhood on 1st of June we’ve got all the year covered.
Internal initiatives
This year was also the perfect playground to try something different. To have initiatives that get us outside our comfort zone and that will push our limits and our way of doing things. We’ve started with the famous Blind Dates over coffee followed by our journey of creating healthy habits through the Wellbeing Program and getting to know ourselves and our clients better through the Employees & Clients Spotlight. Since one of our values is Growth we’ve also started an internal initiative called Tech and Other Talks when we have monthly technical or soft presentation held by externals or our own colleagues.

Famooous! We are famous!
We had a great year when it comes to mass media exposure. We had our first articles published in Forbes, Today Software Magazine and AngajatorulMeu.RO. Moreover, we made peace with the butterflies in our stomach when we were Live at VIA Cluj talking about blockchain.
Values
One of the peak moments of this year was the values definition process. We’ve already shared with you in one of our article every detail behind the scene, but we had to mention them again here. They are so us in so many ways. We are happy.
Expanding our office
Despite some of the rumours we are here to grow and expand the Rebel spirit not only across Romania but also across Europe.
We will share with you some of the news soon, but we will leave this here, so you can think about where we will open our next office.
