Hey guys, Rufus here. On the heels of the inaugural launch of ARBO’s first set of digital collectables (NFTs), I’m here with a very important update that will help everyone to begin picturing how collectables in ARBO can also be recognized and rewarded across the ReBlink Universe of stories.

Rewarding true Fans (yes capital F-fans) is a core principle of what ReBlink is exploring as we rethink the future of storytelling and audience engagement. Fans are the lifeblood of any great story and franchise. They give it hope in the beginning, they give it the push over the finish line for releases, and they embody it through time — passing their passion and love for their favorite stories onto the next generation.

ReBlink’s mission is to enable the future of storytelling, rethinking it from the ground-up to support inspired storytellers to bring their creations to life. One of the technologies that supports this vision will be the ReBlink FanFaucet.

Overview of the ReBlink FanFaucet

Faucets have been used in the blockchain space since the invention of Bitcoin. In the early days, newcomers used to be able to visit a website and request free Bitcoin from a Bitcoin Faucet to their wallets, to get them started. In hindsight, don’t you wish you had guzzled up as much as you could from those faucets?

Faucets have been utilized throughout the development of blockchain technologies as a way to distribute items to people, based on certain qualifications. Faucets have also become popular within NFT gaming, with multiple projects leveraging them for giveaways, celebrating milestones and rewarding holders.

Today, we’re excited to introduce FanFaucets to all things storytelling. If a story is told on the ReBlink platform, be it games like ARBO or future stories from other storytellers, FanFaucet technology will be a tool they can leverage to reward Fans with access to ongoing utility and rewards.

How does it work?

FanFaucets can be indiscriminate, doling out collectables such as Tokens and NFTs upon request — as long as supply and time requirements are met — or they can be specifically configured to provide access to people meeting certain requirements.

ReBlink FanFaucets will support both use cases, but will go further by allowing creators to designate assets as FanAssets (or Fan Collectables). For example, in ARBO, any owner of any collectables within our ecosystem will be able to access ongoing rewards over the years, but HoloMotion collectables, which are uniquely animated items, carry a special FanAsset designation. Source Keys, which do not carry a special FanAsset designation, will also be configured for whitelisted access on FanFaucets from time-to-time, but with priorities and drops sequenced differently, when needed. If you own a FanAsset, you can show up to the faucet during an active drop and access uniquely curated content like tokens or NFTs, similar to our first-ever upcoming Cosmetics drop.

More importantly, FanFaucets can be configured to reward Fans based on the time they’ve BEEN holding a FanAsset in their wallet. For example, if you kept a First Edition HoloMotion in ARBO since our initial release, your Aged FanAsset will get you priority access or access to specifically curated drops. If you have a set of four First Edition HoloMotion FanAssets from the initial ARBO release, you may also receive specific additional access permissions.

FanFaucets will also handle the burning of FanAssets in return for exclusive collectables or tokens.

FanFaucet Instantiation

ReBlink FanFaucets will launch with the instantiation of the ARBO FanFaucet, which will feature a curation of exclusive, low-supply collectables for ARBO First Edition HoloMotion holders. Stay tuned for more information in the ARBO Discord for this.

ReBlink will also curate and make available FanFaucets for all stories told on its platform, and expose APIs and integrations for FanFaucets to be seamlessly embedded into immersive experiences, such as games or apps, so they can take on a life of their own within the stories themselves.

I hope you all are getting excited for what’s to come, both for ARBO and the broader ReBlink Universe. Every single one of you are Fans, and we hope FanFaucets go on to be a pillar for fan engagement on stories told on and off our platform for many years to come.
