Why Is South Mumbai So Famous?

The cultural hub of the magnificent Mumbai city — South Mumbai. Long before Bombay changed to Mumbai and malls, big entertainment centers crowded the city; South Mumbai (then South Bombay, a.k.a SoBo) had an exceptional amount of glamour. If New York has Mid Town and Soho, Mumbai has South Mumbai, the old world charm.

Since auto-rickshaws are not permitted in South Mumbai, traffic here is much better than any part of Mumbai.

Geographically, South Mumbai lies at the southern corner of Mumbai. Most city residents use the term to refer to Mahim's stretch to Colaba as South Mumbai. The area is delimited on the east by Mumbai Harbour and on the west by the Arabian Sea.
