Exploring our Poznań colleagues — Mateusz Jaworski

Did you know rebuy has multiple locations?

We decided to interview a couple of our colleagues from our facilities in Poznań. rebuy in Poznań is specialized in grading, refurbishing, and repairing pre-owned Consumer Electronics like smartphones, game consoles, cameras, headphones, and speakers.

Our first volunteer to take part in an interview was the wonderful Mateusz Jaworski!

Mateusz is the Standardization and Training Specialist, he joined the rebuy team in March 2018 as a grading employee, after having rebuy recommended as a place to work by a high school friend.

As a Standardization and Training Specialist, Mateusz explores new opportunities for device repairs, trains new employees in the repair department, and provides support for the social media department.

We wanted to know a bit more about Mateusz’s motivations around joining rebuy, and this is how it all went down:

What attracted you to joining rebuy?

Primarily based on positive reviews from a colleague who had previously worked here, the company’s atmosphere at rebuy is indeed an incredible asset to working here. Additionally, rebuy’s mission aligns closely with my lifestyle, and I have learned a great deal about adopting a more eco-friendly approach to life during my time here.

What is your favourite thing about your colleagues at rebuy?

As I mentioned earlier, the atmosphere here is very family-like and friendly. With colleagues, you can share jokes, and everyone maintains a good sense of humor.

Do you believe the work you are doing is creating a positive impact? If so, how and what are you working on?

Absolutely, my morning routine at work involves checking reports on the repairs of new devices we’ve initiated, and when I see that we’re able to repair more and more devices day by day, month by month, thanks to our efforts, it brings me a great sense of happiness.

What exciting things have you and your team been getting up to lately?

When it comes to social media, I particularly enjoy the ‘Eco Awareness’ series, where we aim to showcase the consequences of environmental neglect by humans.

Do you share the same values around sustainability as rebuy, or do you believe you could invest more interest into the sustainable lifestyle?

Of course, it’s essential to me. Similar to rebuy, where we give a second life to electronic devices, I also value these principles in my personal life. I buy clothing from second-hand stores, furniture and decorations from flea markets, and I believe that the idea of repairing everyday items is especially important in today’s times when the lifespan of products is very short, and often, buying something new is cheaper and easier than giving a second life to existing items, but I know that I still have many areas where I can improve in this regard.

What advice would you give to someone looking to join rebuy?

Don’t hesitate for a moment longer; rebuy’s mission is vital for the world, and you can be a part of it. The company provides many opportunities for growth, and you’ll undoubtedly be able to develop your talents here.
