The Simpsons is known for its humor, memorable characters, and storytelling. However, the show has also gained a reputation for making some eerily accurate predictions about future events.
Over the years, The Simpsons have made several predictions that turned out to be true. For example, in an episode that aired in 1998, the show predicted that the United States would win a gold medal in curling at the Winter Olympics. This prediction came true in 2018 when the US Men’s Curling team won the gold medal at the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics.
In another episode that aired in 2000, The Simpsons predicted that Donald Trump would become President of the United States.
At the time, this prediction was seen as a joke. However, in 2016, Trump won the presidential election, and The Simpsons’ prediction became a reality.
The show also predicted the outbreak of the Ebola virus in 1997. In an episode, a character brings a virus from Africa to Springfield, causing a pandemic. While the details of the virus and its effects on the population were exaggerated for comedic effect, the prediction of a deadly virus originating in Africa proved to be true with the outbreak of the Ebola virus in 2014.
