The tortoise’s friends all implored him not to race. That talked about how fast and ambitious the hare was. But the tortoise knew better, and he had read several books about mindfulness and finding happiness in life.

So, the day of the race came.

And they were off.

The hare gaining a vast lead in figuratively no time flat. Down the road, over the hill, and out of sight.

But the tortoise wasn’t dismayed.

“Slow and steady wins the race.”

That was the tortoise’s strategy and he was going to stick to it, no matter how boring or disappointing it might seem.

The hare kept running at full speed, jumping over downed trees.

All while the tortoise carefully climbed over or around.

The hare jetted through mud puddles.

The tortoise went around.

The hare moved to Hollywood and did some porn stuff to get by.

The tortoise went to a respected college and majored in accounting.

The hare got an agent and landed an audition for a sci-fi epic.

The tortoise graduated with honors and started at a large company.
