The car alarm was invented back in 1913, and the first patent was filed in 1918. Since then, nearly every major car manufacturer has embraced the anti-theft device. In theory, it works because car thieves don’t want the attention.

In theory… it works…

And he did deserve that.

Fun fact — that first car alarm, back in 1913, was developed by an imprisoned felon.

So, the next time you decide that your car is worth waking me up, just remember, we are all hoping someone just smashes that thing and drives it away.
