INT. RACHEL’S APARTMENT - BEDROOM - DAY

The morning. Sara and Rachel are lying naked, side by side, in the bed covered only with a thin blanket. They’re looking at each other. Communicating non-verbally. They both look exhausted, but in a good way.

SARA
What is it?

RACHEL
I’m just thinking.

SARA
About what?

RACHEL
About last night. About what happened in this bed.

SARA
(with great interest)
And?

RACHEL
It was new, exciting, strange ... I don’t know. Wonderful and terrible at the same time. It’s hard to describe. I’ve never done it before... I mean, with a woman.

SARA
I did. I always knew that I’m interested in women.
(turns on her back, sadly)
My mother knew too. She didn’t approve. At least I thought that. Now it doesn’t matter anyway.

Rachel looks at her with pity and compassion. Sara notices it.

SARA
Don’t give me that look. What’s done is done. Things no longer can be changed.

RACHEL
Sorry.

Rachel ruffles Sara’s hair, then with the tips of her fingers touches her neck, her left shoulder...

SARA
What about you? Didn’t you ever feel attracted to the same sex?

RACHEL
I don’t know. I guess I did, but I didn’t realize what it was. Or didn’t want to realize. (their eyes meet again) What do we do now?

SARA
First we’re going to hit the shower and then eat our dinner which we should have eaten yesterday.

RACHEL
(smiles)
You know what I mean.

SARA
I know. But I’ve got no answer. I don’t know what will happen today, let alone plan something ahead.

RACHEL
Then we’ll live day by day. Slowly. This’s all new to me anyway. So I want to go slowly. Without rushing. Ok? Just you and me.

SARA
(sincerely)
I’d love to, but ... I’m afraid. I’m afraid it will all fall apart and I’ll hurt you.

RACHEL
We can’t control our destiny, but we can give our best to succeed.

SARA
(wistfully)
Do you think we can be happy?

RACHEL
If we don’t try, we won’t know.

Sara chuckles.

SARA
Fair enough.

RACHEL
(looks at the clock on the nightstand next to Sara, suddenly)
Oh, shit!

SARA
What is it?

RACHEL
I’ll be late for work. Again. So we’ll have to postpone our dinner or breakfast for another time. Ok?

SARA
(a little disappointed)
Okay.

Rachel gets closer to Sara and kisses her on the mouth. It’s a long kiss. Then she gets up and runs into the bathroom. Soon the sound of the shower is heard.

Sara sighs, stretches. She looks happy, but at the same time scared. She doesn’t want for this happiness to be over, but she knows it will be. Sooner or later.

Sara’s phone VIBRATES. She takes it off the nightstand. It’s a message from Teacher: "EZEKIEL CONTACTED THE POLICE. INSPECTOR DAVIS TOOK OVER THE CASE. SHE’S ON TO YOU. CALL ME!!!".

SARA
Fuck!
