RECKONING Season 1 Episode 9/120

INT. THE WALKER PENTHOUSE - LIVING ROOM - DAY

Ezekiel BURSTS INTO the apartment. He's totally freaking out. Drops of sweat are sliding down his forehead, fear can be seen in his eyes.

EZEKIEL 
(wildly)
KATE! KATE! WHERE ARE YOU?

No answer. Ezekiel RUNS toward the bedrooms. He BARGES IN to the bedroom that has a “Do not disturb” sign hanging on the door.

INT. THE WALKER PENTHOUSE – KATE’S ROOM - DAY

In the room, which once was Sara’s, there is a girl lying on the bed. That’s KATE WALKER (17), Ezekiel’s daughter. She’s quite reminiscent of Sara when she was at that age. Except she doesn’t have gray, but blonde hair. She’s chatting with someone via a messenger app on her phone.

Ezekiel is relieved to see that she is alive and well. He hugs her tightly, like he never did before. She doesn’t understand what’s going on.

KATE
Hey, c’mon, you'll suffocate me. What’s happening?

Ezekiel kisses her on the cheek and deeply looks into her eyes.

EZEKIEL 
(panting)
You can’t imagine how much I love you. I won’t... I won’t let anyone to harm you. No one. Never. You're my daughter. My everything. I would die if something happened to you.

Ezekiel sheds a tear. Kate still doesn’t understand a thing. He gently strokes her long hair.

EZEKIEL 
(smiles)
Forgive your old man for this outburst of endearment. I won’t bother you any longer.

He kisses her on the forehead and goes out. Kate rolls her eyes and goes back to writing messages on her phone.

INT. THE WALKER PENTHOUSE – LIVING ROOM - DAY

Ezekiel goes back to the living room where he pours himself a glass of brandy. He drains it at one gulp.

His breathing slows down.

He pulls the cell phone from his pocket and calls someone.

EZEKIEL
Come here immediately! We have a situation.
