In one of the most racially divided towns in the UK, one of the first actions of Oldham Council Leader AROOJ SHAH, celebrated by her followers as the town’s first Muslim in charge, was to confirm her anointment by standing on the tables in the Council chamber for her official photo shoot.

The signs prior to this ill advised act had already been ominous. News had first emerged of her elevation not from the Labour Party, nor the Council, nor even the Council sponsored local press. Instead, news that AROOJ SHAH was the town’s new leader came from her convicted gangland associates who had taken to social media to celebrate their new influence over the town.

The official news, when it arrived, came several days later in the local press from where the above photograph featured in the official photo…
