Gratitude for the rainbow
September, 2018: The day Hurricane Florence came to call
I woke up today in a state of Grace.
Thankful for things I take for granted every day of my life.
Thankful for the water that flows from my faucet.
Thankful for the power that runs my A/C and makes my coffee.
Thankful for the fridge full of unspoiled food and the ability to prepare it.
Thankful for The Rain, that cleans the air as I feel my lungs expand fully.
Thankful for the trees that surround my home — standing tall & upright still.
Thankful for the friends and family who care and reach out to me in every way.
Thankful for the comfort and company of one of my very oldest friends, an evacuee from a bit south of here.
Thankful for the forces which slowed and calmed a Category 4 to a Category 1 and soothed the very soul of Mother Nature.
Thankful for the people who stand ready to put The Earth right by the light of day when The Storm passes.
Thankful for the Cajun Army, The Power Companies who sent their Warriors, The EMTS, First Responders, Those Who Stay Behind To Serve, All The People — who are The Helpers.
I am filled to the top and overflowing with Gratitude For Today. Today Was Not a Day That The Worst Disaster In 60 Years Came To My State.
Today was The Day Life Went On.
Namaste.
