Wishing everyone a rather belated, but very sincere and warm happy 2020. It seems like December was yesterday and we are already looking at the end of the first month of 2020! I trust and hope that whatever holiday season you managed to have was very happy, filled with fun, and shared with family and friends.

December was a very short month as most of the charities we support took a little well-deserved time off to recharge their batteries after our exceptionally happy and busy year. As many people went away on annual holidays and children were on school vacation we spent our time reflecting on the past year and seeing what lessons we could learn from what we had done and how we could improve, do things a little differently or perhaps add to some of the highlights so we will have an even bigger, better, and happier year this year. We did manage to make progress on some projects, see our update below.

January was spent consolidating some of the ideas, having some interesting and exciting meetings with our charities, networking, and making some new connections with key contacts. There is so much to look forward to and so much more happiness just waiting to be spread and we are ready to meet the challenge and get started. So let’s get to the updates.

Red Bagels made a Christmas Party for everyone at the Ciniselani Centre. Through December and January we were really happy to know that the Ciniselani Centre holiday program was going to receive a huge boost of happiness from the new T.V. we had donated to them. We knew that would provide them with great fun and educational programs to watch and entertain them. They also have a lot of new activities and games to play, all provided by us through the amazing upliftment program we did with Patricia in November.

So we decided to spend our donation on giving the very dedicated teachers and staff a much needed boost and hopefully a happier Christmas and new year by giving them a bonus which is something they do not usually get. We also gave the children a party with lots of treats.

We continued our donation to Woman of the World on behalf of the young woman we have been assisting to receive life enhancing medication. We are very excited to learn that she has been doing extremely well on her medication.

January seemed to be an extension of December and although it got off to a slow start, with most people only returning to work when schools reopened, we identified some extremely worthy causes that had fallen short of their budgets and were eagerly looking for donations, which we were very pleased and grateful to ne able to contribute towards:

  • Hospice
  • CHOC
  • DL Link

A quick word about DL Link and the work it does: The journey through Cancer can be long, demanding and draining. DL Link is there to share this very lonely burden and help families withstand this crisis.

We also spent some time attending a charity dinner, hosted by Nosh food rescue. We were served the most delicious food made only from rescued food. These are the same type of meals that will be made and donated by Nosh throughout the year to homeless shelters and soup kitchens. It was a fantastic fun evening networking and enjoying connecting with amazing people . The entertainment and waitering was provided by disabled and disadvantaged people from various organizations, such as The Selwyn Segal, who did an amazing job. The dignity, confidence, and joy that they felt was contagious.

We continue to strive to bring more Happiness into the world and look forward to all of us being able to share another year together that will hopefully be bigger, better, and filled with much more light and love than last year.

Have a beautiful day.
